"The passing of legends"

Films: Bubba Ho-Tep (2002)

Alias: None

Type: Mystical

Location: Civilized Area

Height/Weight: That of an average human.

Affiliation: Evil

Summary: If you've heard of this film, and you probably haven't, you're probably still scratching your head wondering how Bruce Campbell got to playing Elvis Presley in an old folks' home while going up against an anachronistic mummy. You're also probably wondering how it all actually worked in the film's favor.

History: Elvis lives a rather bitter life at a retirement home in Texas, having botched an attempt to retire quietly and now stuck with everyone thinking he's an impersonator. His only friend is JFK, who faked his own death and got dyed black after a lobotomy. So, where does the mummy factor in to all this insanity? Well, it turns out that a mummy landed near the home after some rednecks stole its tomb and dressed it up like a cowboy. The mummy, dubbed Bubba Ho-Tep by Elvis, is going around stealing the souls of the elderly to condemn them to a rather unflattering afterlife. Only Elvis and JFK can hope to stop him.

Notable Kills: Almost all of his kills are old folk. Talk about bringing the "killed x days till retirement" joke to its logical conclusion.

Final Fate: After his rampage, Bubba Ho-Tep is rammed by JFK's electric wheelchair, and doused in fire by Elvis, killing him for good. However, Elvis dies from his own injuries, though he welcomes it wholesomely.

Powers/Abilities: Bubba Ho-Tep's very presence causes lights to dim, and he can summon scarabs to kill people. Or he can just suck out souls himself.

Weakness: Fire seems to be the only thing that can put him down for good.

Scariness Factor: 4-Bubba Ho-Tep, in spite of the rather ridiculous cowboy getup, is an intimidating sight with how decayed he is. He may not be much of a threat to the younger crowd, but imagine being old and weak, and unable to escape what could potentially be a fate worse than death. He's dead and out for a reason.

Trivia: -There was a sequel involving vampires planned, known as "Bubba Nosferatu", but it got canned due to Campbell not wanting to play Elvis again.

-Elvis' hired impersonator at the beginning, Sebastian Haff, was named after one of many of the actual king of rock's aliases when he was trying to check into hotels without getting everyone's attention.

A cast of lovable bumblers, we have here.

"My species rolls the sun daily! What do you do?!"

Or not. It's ambiguous, remember?

Miira? Japan, what did you have in mind for the title?

From the Afterlife, he shambled.
He's wondering how he got that outfit in the first place.

Way to demean hieroglyphics.
